Angelo Colosimo

A co-captain of the 1979 Colgate football team, fullback Angelo Colosimo holds the school record for passes caught by a running back in a season (36). He led the team in rushing yards (792), all-purpose yards (1,127) and scoring (68) in 1978 as well. A two-time AP All-East selection, Colosimo once again led the Raiders in rushing yards (557) and scoring (36) in 1979. He finished his Colgate career with 1,349 yards and 12 touchdowns on 358 carries along with 49 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns.

A two-time First Team Academic All-American, Colosimo maintained a 3.6 GPA as a pre-med student, received the Charles A. Dana Award for outstanding academic achievement and was elected to the Tri Beta Honorary Biology Society. He was selected to appear in the 1979 edition of “America’s Outstanding Names & Faces.”

Colosimo earned his M.D. from the New York University Medical School in 1984 and completed his residency at the Duke University Medical Center. He currently serves as associate team physician for the Cincinnati Bengals and director of orthopedic services for the University of Cincinnati athletic teams. Colosimo is also an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery, director of the Division of Sports Medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and co-director of the University of Cincinnati Sports Medicine Fellowship.
