Mike Kline was a three-year letterman for Oregon State from 1959-61. In 1959, Kline was awarded the Beavers Rookie of the Year. One of the best linemen in the West, Kline made several All-America teams in 1960, and he received his team’s Attitude and Scholarship Award. His senior season, the 6’0’’, 225 pound tackle was named captain.

The Corvallis, Ore., native excelled in the classroom as well. Boasting a 3.61 GPA, Kline made the honor roll more than nine times, majoring in business psychology. As a result of his outstanding academic record, Kline was elected to the Dean’s list, the Honor Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Society.

After graduating in 1962, Kline was drafted to the Denver Broncos in the 11th round of the AFL draft.
