Chemical Engineering – 3.37 GPA

Head Coach: Jeff Monken
Athletics Director: Boo Corrigan

Army’s first-ever national Walter Camp Player of the Week, Terry Baggett has established himself as an exceptional leader on and off the field. He becomes the 15th NFF National Scholar-Athlete from Army.

A 2013 First-Team Academic All-American, Baggett boasts a 3.37 GPA in chemical engineering. The Chicago, Ill., native hopes to be assigned to the infantry after he graduates.

A unanimous 2013 FBS All-Independent Team selection and First-Team Phil Steele All-Independent Team pick, he has rushed for 1,632 yards on 211 carries with 11 touchdowns in his career. He is just the 18th player in Army history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, and has posted six 100-yard performances. Baggett set an Army record when he rushed for 304 yards in a win over Eastern Michigan in 2013, a game in which he scored on a 96-yard run for the second-longest scoring run in Army history.

One of Army’s great ambassadors in the community, Baggett has volunteered with the Special Olympics and Lutheran Child and Family Services. A member of the football team leadership council, he also participated in Relay for Life and is a member of the Chemical Engineering Club. Baggett visited MIT twice this year as part of a joint research project and spoke to students at St. Charles School in Harlem, sharing personal stories about overcoming adversity.

In 2021, Bagget became an Aide de Camp of the 7th Infantry Division for a Commanding General handling all correspondence, providing security, and assisting in all requested tasks.
