Kansas State’s all-time leader in receiving yards, Tyler Lockett is on pace to break his father Kevin’s school records for catches and receiving touchdowns in a career. The 2013 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year becomes the fifth NFF National Scholar-Athlete from Kansas State. Lockett played for College Football Hall of Fame coach Bill Snyder.

A two-year team captain, Lockett was selected to the 2013 Second-Team Academic All-Big 12, and he is also a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The Tulsa, Okla., native is a business management major with a 3.24 GPA, and he hopes to earn his MBA after graduation.

A three-time All-American performer, Lockett earned second team laurels at wide receiver in 2013 while garnering honorable mention and first team accolades at kick returner in 2012 and 2011, respectively. A First-Team All-Big 12 honoree at both wide receiver and kick returner in 2013 and the Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year in 2011, Lockett owns the school record for career kickoff return yardage, and he ranks in the top five in seven other categories. Lockett helped lead the Wildcats to three straight bowl berths and a Big 12 title in 2012. Entering 2014, he ranked second nationally among active players in kickoff-return yardage and kickoff-return touchdowns. In his career, Lockett has caught 203 passes for 3,073 yards and 24 touchdowns along with 68 kickoff returns for 2,033 yards and four touchdowns.

A three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council, Lockett was named to the 2013 AFCA Good Works Team. He assisted with elementary school carnivals and the Adopt-a-Family program during the holidays. He has visited retirement centers, and he participated in the Cats in the Classroom program, reading to students and helping teachers with classroom activities. Lockett was selected in the third round (69th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. In his first NFL appearance, he had a 103-yard kick return for a touchdown against the Broncos in Seattle's preseason opener.
