Charles Moore has established himself as one of the best student-athletes in Tarleton State history, and he is described by head coach Cary Fowler as “not only one of the best football players I’ve ever coached, but an even better man.” He becomes the first NFF National Scholar-Athlete in school annals.

A 2014 Academic All-District honoree and four-time Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, Moore is a recipient of Tarleton’s Top 10-Percent Scholarship. He is a four-time Dean’s List honoree and a three-time Tarleton State Honor Roll member. A two-time Academic All-LSC pick, the Farmers Branch, Texas, native has a 3.83 GPA in kinesiology, and he plans to pursue a master’s in kinesiology after graduation.

A two-year team captain, Moore led the Texans to a 2013 LSC Championship. He is a two-time All-LSC performer, earning second team honors in 2013 and honorable mention accolades in 2012. Moore ended his Texan career with 204 tackles and six interceptions, including a team-leading five in 2014.

A Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative, Moore has logged nearly 1,000 hours of community service while at Tarleton. He assists with Make-a-Wish activities; writes letters to nursing home residents; and works with students at the Child Development Center. Moore has participated in Silver Taps, Fantastic Field Day, foster home cookouts, trash pick-ups, freshman move-in day and TREAT Rodeo for children. He is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
