Bruce Bosley was one of the most honored lineman of the 1950's. He excelled in games against rival Penn State. Bosley helped to defeat Penn State three consecutive times. Bosley was named by the Associated Press as the National Lineman of the Week in two contests against the Nittany Lions. During his senior season Bosley was selected captain of the All- Southern Conference team. One of the 12 All-America teams Bosley made in 1955 was the All- Players team. Bosley was named by 93 percent of opposing players. In 1955 Bosley was one half of a West Virginia All-America tandem of tackles with teammate Sam Huff also winning All-America honors. Bosley played in numerous All Star games before starting a professional career at center with the San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons. As a professional Bosley played in four Pro Bowls.
