Harvey J. "Jabo" Jablonsky played six years in the college game and was captain at two schools. He first played at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, 1927-29 and was captain in 1929. After graduating from Washington, he enrolled in the U.S. Military Academy. Under the rules of the time, he was eligible for three more years of football. He played guard 1931-33 and was Army's captain in 1933. Under his leadership in 1933, Army had a 9-1 record and out- scored its opponents 227 to 26. He remained at West Point as assistant coach nine years. In World War II he commanded a parachute infantry regiment, later rose to the rank of major general and commanded the First Armored Division. In 1946 he returned to West Point as assistant coach. Jablonsky, highly decorated, retired from the Army after 34 years. In 1968 he joined the Northrop Company in Los Angeles. Jablonsky died in 1989 at age 80.
