Jim Haslett was a three-time Little All-America selection, playing defensive end and linebacker for Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 1978, he also was the team's punter, averaging 41 yards a kick, was Player of the Year in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference, and was chosen to play in the Blue-Gray All-Star game. He had 412 tackles in his career and set school records for one season with 20 sacks and five fumble recoveries. Haslett played for Buffalo and the New York Jets in the National Football League, 1979-1986. He went into coaching at the University of Buffalo, then on the staff of Pittsburgh and New Orleans in the NFL. In 2000, he was named head coach of the New Orleans Saints.
