Terrell Suggs Wins Inaugural Ted Hendricks Defensive End of The Year Award

TEMPE, AZ - The Miami Touchdown Club is proud to announce that Terrell Suggs
of Arizona State is the inaugural winner of the Ted Hendricks Defensive End
of the Year Award. The award was presented at a ceremony in the Carson
Center, which is located at Sun Devil Stadium. Ted Hendricks was on hand to
present the award to Suggs.

Hendricks summarized his thoughts on Terrell Suggs when he stated, "Terrell
has many outstanding qualities, which include being always active on the
field, quick, and strong. He was the number one concern of all opposing
coaches that his team faced this season. He also has an exceptional record of
community service. We are very pleased that a man of his talents and
abilities is the recipient."

The Four Finalists for the award were Michael Haynes, Penn State University;
Jerome McDougle, University of Miami (Fla.); Cory Redding, University of
Texas; and Terrell Suggs, Arizona State University.

"Having Terrell Suggs as the recipient, finishes off an outstanding inaugural
year for our award. It was extra special for us to present this award to
Terrell in his home stadium, on college football's biggest stage", stated
Hendricks Award Chairman Adam Lubkin.

The timing of the announcement was set to coincide with the Fiesta Bowl, the
site of this year's BCS Championship game. During the ceremony, Suggs was
presented with the bronze Hendricks Trophy. Suggs will also be receiving a
custom Hendricks Award ring, which will be inscribed with his name and
school.
