NFF to Host NCFAA Annual Summer Meeting

DALLAS, June 14, 2010 - The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) will hold its annual summer meeting Wednesday, June 16 at the NFF's headquarters in Irving, Texas.

"The members of the NCFAA work extremely hard for the betterment of all of college football, and they continue to find new ways to shine a light on the best our sport has to offer," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "It's great to be a NCFAA member and to be able to play an added role by hosting the annual summer meeting at our headquarters for the third year in a row."

The NCFAA was formed in 1997 as a coalition of major collegiate football awards to enhance the integrity and prestige of college football's various awards. Currently, the organization works with ESPN to stage The Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show, which will air this year on Thursday, Dec. 9 from the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The NFF is a member of the organization through its William V. Campbell Trophy, presented by HealthSouth, which is promoted by the association as the nation's top scholar-athlete award in college football.

"We want to thank the NFF for their gracious hospitality," said NCFAA President Danielle Moorman, who is also the executive director of the Davey O'Brien Foundation. "The NFF stands as one of the leaders in promoting the integrity of college football, and we are fortunate that their headquarters are centrally located in the country, providing the ideal meeting place for our members who traveled from all over the country."

The officers of the organization include Moorman; Steve Richardson, vice president (Football Writers Association of America); Jeff Lockhart, secretary/treasurer (SMU Athletic Forum); Bill Davis, director-at-large (Lou Groza Award); Eddie Griffin (Jim Thorpe Award) Tom Lally, director-at-large (Walter Camp Foundation); and Mark Wolpert (Maxwell Football Club).

The awards covered by the association include the Bednarik Award, Biletnikoff Award, Frank Broyles Award, Butkus Award, Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the NFF William V. Campbell Trophy, Lou Groza Award, Ray Guy Award, Heisman Memorial Trophy Award, Rotary Lombardi Award, John Mackey Award, Maxwell Award, Joseph V. Paterno Award, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Davey O'Brien Award, Outland Trophy, Rimington Trophy, Eddie Robinson/FWAA Coach of the Year, Jim Thorpe Award, Doak Walker Award, and as an associate member the Disney's Wide World of Sports Spirit Award.
