Hall of Fame Candidate Capsule: Hal Bedsole

Leading in to the announcement of the 2012 College Football Hall of Fame Class, the National Football Foundation highlights members on the Hall of Fame Ballot. The 2012 Class will be announced on May 15 in New York City.

YEARS: 1961-63

ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Bledsoe was a 1962 consensus All-American and helped the Trojans win the national championship under College Football Hall of Fame coach John McKay. He nabbed two touchdown catches in USC's 42-37 Rose Bowl victory over Wisconsin to seal an 11-0 season. He was a two-time All-Pac-8 honoree while leading USC in receptions and scoring in 1961 and 1962. Always a big-play threat, Bledsoe holds the USC career record for highest average per reception at 20.94 yards per catch, and became the first player in school history to top 200 receiving yards in a single game when he accumulated 201 receivng yards in a victory over California in 1962. For his career, Bledsoe claimed 82 catches for 1,717 yards with 20 touchdowns and five 100-yard games.

ALL-STAR GAME ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Bledsoe competed in the 1964 Coaches All-American Game, the College All-Star Game and the Hula Bowl.

NOTABLES: Bledsoe is a member of the USC Athletics Hall of Fame.
