Hall of Fame Candidate Capsule: Percy Snow

Leading in to the announcement of the 2012 College Football Hall of Fame Class, the National Football Foundation highlights members on the Hall of Fame Ballot. The 2012 Class will be announced on May 15 in New York City.

SCHOOL: Michigan State

POSITION: Linebacker

YEARS: 1986-89

ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The winner of the Butkus and Lombardi awards, Snow helped Michigan State appear in three bowl games, including a win in the 1988 Rose Bowl, and compile a 29-16-2 record. Snow led the Big Ten with 172 tackles in 1989 and was named First Team All-Conference three times. Snow received the “Governor of Michigan” Award as team MVP while recording 473 career tackles. His 1988 and 1989 seasons ranked as the top two tackling campaigns in school history with 172 and 164 tackles respectively.

POST-COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CAREER: Selected in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, Snow played in the NFL for four seasons with the Chiefs and Chicago Bears

CIVIC SERVICE: Snow has served as an assistant coach for little league flag football team for the last four years and a five-year assistant coach in Babe Stern Baseball League (coaches ages 4-6 and 7-8)
