IRVING, Texas (March 26, 2024) – The National Football Foundation's (NFF) Leadership & Entrepreneurial Academy (Academy) will launch its inaugural program, the GSV Boot Camp powered by Honor Education on April 9. The four-week course is designed to provide recent college football graduates with additional skills to thrive in their post-collegiate career journey.
"Since our founding in 1947, the National Football Foundation has been a strong believer in the ability of intercollegiate football players to compete at the highest levels both on the field and in the classroom," said Steve Hatchell, NFF President & CEO. "No organization in the country has been committed to the scholar-athlete ideal longer or more broadly than the NFF. The Academy and programs like the GSV Boot Camp continue our longtime commitment to cultivating success beyond the gridiron."
In 2022, the National Football Foundation created the NFF Education Committee. This elite group, co-chaired by NFF Board members Ronnie Lott and William H. McRaven, set out to emphasize the importance of a college degree and search for opportunities to incentivize education. The first action of the committee was to launch the NFF Leadership & Entrepreneurial Academy. The Academy's purpose is to create programs to assist and encourage college football players to utilize and take advantage of the opportunities provided through the sport.
The GSV Boot Camp powered by Honor Education is the first act of the committee and will build on the teamwork and leadership qualities learned on the field. The free, four-week program is being coordinated, organized, and hosted by NFF board member Michael Moe. His company, GSV Asset Management (GSV), has run virtual start-up boot camps for approximately 10,000 aspiring entrepreneurs, has authored an accredited MBA for entrepreneurship, and invested in hundreds of emerging businesses, including Lyft, Snapchat, and Spotify. Moe and special guests will lead the four Zoom-based sessions: The Entrepreneurial Mindset, Creating Products People Love, Business Plan & Finances, and Creating Teams & Pitching Your Business.
