Terry Hanratty Set for Oct. 18 NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute Presented by Fidelity Investments® at Notre Dame

Hanratty, who quarterbacked Notre Dame to a 24-4-2 record, is a member of the 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class.

IRVING, Texas (Oct. 15, 2025) – Notre Dame and The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that they will jointly honor 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame electee Terry Hanratty with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute, presented by Fidelity Investments®. The Salute will take place on Oct. 18, during the Fighting Irish's home football game against Southern California, which will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock.

"Terry Hanratty provided poise and precision for Notre Dame's storied offense, guiding the Irish to national prominence while earning All-America honors and cementing his place among the program's great signal-callers," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "We are thrilled to honor him at Notre Dame Stadium as a member of the 2025 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class."

The NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute program, which began with the inaugural NFF College Football Hall of Fame Class in 1951, has become a hallowed tradition, and to this day, the singular events remain the first of numerous activities in the NFF Hall of Fame experience.

During the NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salutes, each electee returns to his respective school to accept an NFF Hall of Fame plaque that will stay on permanent display at the institution. The events take place on the field during a home game, and many NFF Hall of Famers cite the experience as the ultimate capstone to their careers, providing them one more chance to take the field and be recognized in front of their home crowd.

A consensus First Team All-American in 1968, Hanratty led Notre Dame to a 24-4-2 record during his three years under center in South Bend, including a share of the national title in 1966. The Irish won 83.3 percent of their games with Hanratty as the starting signal caller, and the Irish boasted a final ranking of No. 5 or better during all three years of his tenure.
