NOTES:
Texas held onto the top spot for a second straight week, collecting 36 of 56 first-place votes after a 30-6 home win over UTSA.

Georgia, Notre Dame and Miami stayed put at Nos. 2, 3 and 4, respectively, with each moving to 3-0 on the season.

Ole Miss jumped three spots to No. 5 after knocking off then-No. 7 LSU 32-24 on the road, sending the Tigers tumbling two spots to No. 9.

Indiana and Ohio State each slipped one spot to Nos. 6 and 7 despite blowout home wins.

Alabama climbed two spots to No. 8 following a 50-36 non-conference win over Florida State.

BYU rounded out the top 10, moving up after a 41-23 win at Colorado State and marking the Cougars' fifth all-time top-10 appearance.

No. 9 Texas A&M fell out of the rankings entirely after a 10-point home loss to Kentucky, while No. 16 Oregon also exited the poll despite an 84-0 win over Portland State. Utah and Louisville moved into the rankings at Nos. 15 and 16, respectively.

By conference, the SEC leads with six ranked teams, followed by the Big Ten with four, the Big 12 with three, the ACC with two and the FBS Independents with one.

ABOUT THE FWAA-NFF SUPER 16 POLL:
The FWAA-NFF Super 16 Poll was established at the conclusion of the 2013 season by long-time partners, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) and the National Football Foundation (NFF). Voters rank the top 16 teams in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, and the results will be released every Sunday of the 2026 season; the individual votes of all members will also be made public. The first regular season poll will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 8 (to account for Labor Day games), and the final poll will be released Sunday, Dec. 6. The pollsters consist of FWAA writers and College Football Hall of Famers who were selected to create a balanced-geographical perspective. The poll utilizes a computer program designed by TicketManager to compile the rankings and Kellner Ratings to publish the individual votes.
