Biography

Micah Kiser personified the student-athlete ideal during his stellar career at Virginia, earning All-America honors on and off the field.

A 2016 Second Team Academic All-American, Kiser graduated with his bachelor's degree in foreign affairs before his final season while boasting a 3.42 GPA. The two-time First Team Academic All-District selection maintained a 4.0 GPA while working toward his master's in higher education during his senior year. A Baltimore native, Kiser is a three-time Academic All-ACC selection and a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll member.

A 2017 First Team All-American, Kiser finished his senior year with 145 tackles, the second-highest single-season total in school history. A semifinalist for the 2017 Butkus Award, he is just the second player in ACC history to lead the conference in tackles per game in three consecutive seasons.

Racking up 21 career double-digit tackle games in 37 starts, Kiser finished his UVA career with 411 tackles, which ranks No. 5 all-time at the school. The two-time Touchdown Club of Richmond Linebacker of the Year also ranks 10th all-time in Cavaliers history with 19 career sacks and is 11th with 32.5 career tackles for loss.

A two-year team captain, Kiser became the first player in Cavaliers history to be a three-time recipient of first-team All-ACC accolades and All-ACC Academic honors in the same seasons. He received Second Team All-America honors as a junior.

A 2017 Lott IMPACT Trophy finalist and Sullivan Award semifinalist, Kiser played an integral role in Virginia becoming bowl eligible for the first time since 2011.

Kiser had a profound impact on the community during his time at Virginia. Following the riots in Charlottesville, Va., in 2017, he was solely responsible for uniting the football team and initiating the idea of taking a group photo with all the players locked arm-in-arm.

His other activities included volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, mentoring elementary school students and visiting sick children at area hospitals.

Previously spending three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams after being selected in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Kiser joined the Denver Broncos in 2021.
