Biography

Referred to as “the real package” by Texas football coach Mack Brown, Dallas Griffin set the standard for what it takes to succeed at the highest levels at one of college football’s most storied institutions.
 
An ESPN The Magazine First-Team Academic All-American and a four-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12 pick, Griffin graduated with a 3.88 GPA while posting a 4.0 GPA six times as a double major in business honors and finance.
 
His academic accolades include the 2007 Anson Mount Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a 10-time member of UT’s Athletics Director’s Honor Roll and a two-time recipient of UT’s Provost Award.
 
A 2007 Honorable Mention All-Big 12 performer and team captain, Griffin anchored a Longhorn offensive line his senior year that paved the way for 462.9 yards of total offense (13th NCAA), 207.5 yards rushing (17th NCAA) and 37.2 points per game (14th NCAA), leading Texas to a 10-3 record and a Holiday Bowl victory.
 
As a member of the 2005 offensive line, he was a significant contributor to the Longhorns’ undefeated BCS National Championship that included one of the top offensive seasons in college football history with an NCAA record 652 points and a UT-record 6,657 total yards. In all, Texas compiled a 44-7 record with Griffin on the roster.
 
A leader in the community, Griffin volunteered with Children’s Miracle Network Telethon and the Austin Children’s Hospital while visiting elementary schools and facilities for mentally challenged youngsters.
 
The Katy, Texas, native completed his MBA from UT’s prestigious Red McCombs School of Business in 2009. Griffin lives in Houston and currently serves as Managing Director, Energy & Power Investment Banking, at Piper Sandler.
