Biography
Brad Culpepper produced a record setting four years as a defensive tackle at Florida from 1988-91. In 1991, he led Florida’s defense with 50 total tackles and captained the Gators to their first SEC Championship.
A 1991 consensus First-Team All-American, he also garnered First-Team Academic All-America and unanimous First-Team All-SEC honors.
His career statistics include 227 tackles, 47.5 tackles for a loss and 18 quarterback sacks. He was a Second Team All-American in 1990 and a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
Elected as student body vice president in 1991, he served as the student representative on the board of directors of the University Athletic Association. Brad was named to the University of Florida's All Century First Team and was inducted into the UF Athletics Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2001. He was also designated as an SEC Legend in 2002.
Selected in the 10th round of the 1992 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, the Tallahassee, Florida, native joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two years later. In his six years with the Buccaneers, Culpepper led the team in sacks twice and topped the defensive line in tackles in four out of his six seasons.
Culpepper finished his career with the Chicago Bears in 2000. During the NFL offseason, Culpepper earned both a master’s degree in sports administration and his law degree from Florida.
Active in the community, Culpepper has helped raise more than $300,000 for charities, including the Children’s Miracle Network, Shands Hospital and Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
After five years of working at a large Florida law firm, he opened up his own firm, Culpepper Kurland, in March 2007. Culpepper also previously worked as a broadcaster on ABC and FOX.
