Biography

2005 marked the fourth time the Longhorns have claimed the MacArthur Trophy, and the first since they shared the trophy with Ohio State after the 1970 season. The NFF also awarded the trophy to Texas after the 1969 and 1963 seasons under Hall of Fame Head Coach Darrell Royal. The 2005 Longhorn team will now have its name etched on the silver trophy, which will visit Texas before being returned to its permanent display case at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana.
