Biography

Ranked as the nation's most accurate high school quarterback and his class valedictorian, Andrew Luck epitomized the highest levels of excellence both on and off the field at Stratford High School in Houston, Texas.

With a perfect 6.5 GPA on a 6.5 scale, his numerous academic honors include membership in the National Honor Society; the Stratford High School's Principal's Award; and election as a Houston Athletic Committee Spring Scholar Athlete. A regional qualifier in Accounting for the Business Professionals of America, he also claimed a nomination to the National Young Leadership Conference in Washington D.C.

The Dave Campbell's Magazine 5A High School Player of the Year in 2007, Luck earned three varsity letters in football, captaining his team in 2006 and 2007. An All-District First Team selection, he accepted invitations to participate in the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp and the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He received Top 100 Player honors and the Offensive MVP Award for the 19-5A District. He made both the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State First Team and the Randy Rogers Preseason All-Academic First Team. His athletic prowess extended to basketball court where he also earned three varsity letters.

"Andrew is the ultimate team player," said Stratford High School head coach Elliot Allen. "He has lots of talent but shies away from taking the credit. He is a very humble person who always puts team before anything else."

A leader in the community, Luck volunteered with the Special Olympics, Camp of Champs, Literacy Advance, and the Ronald McDonald House Project. He participated in both Young Life and his Catholic Church's youth group.

Luck attended Stanford University and starred as the Cardinal quarterback from 2009-11, throwing for 9,430 yards and 82 touchdowns. A two-time First Team All-American and runner-up for the Heisman trophy, he was selected with the first overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. A three-year starter for the Colts, Luck is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and has thrown for 12,957 yards and 86 touchdowns. In 2012, he set NFL records for most single-game passing yards by a rookie (433) and single-season passing yards by a rookie (4,374).
