NFF Chapter Leadership Award Recipients
Biography
Barbara Corrigan has played a key role in the success of the Northern California Chapter (San Francisco) for the past 16 years.
Dedicated is perhaps the word that best describes Barbara. While dutifully serving on the Chapter's board of directors, she currently holds the title of executive secretary. She also serves as the educational liaison for the Chapter's 180 schools throughout Northern California and holds the position of planning director for the Chapter's highly successful golf tournament and annual scholar-athlete banquet. Barbara has also coordinated several workshops for the Chapter, including learning sessions for parents of students in grades six through eight and a workshop that assists walk-on coaches for men and women in all sports. Barbara also lends her expertise to staging the Chapter's annual NFL/NFF Coaching Academy held at the San Francisco 49ers complex in Santa Clara.
Corrigan has been employed by the South San Francisco Unified School District for 35 years - the past 15 years as purchasing supervisor, overseeing an expenditure of approximately $23,000,000 annually. Recently she received the Purchasing Leadership Award from the California Association of School Business Officials. Barbara utilizes her excellent human relations skills while working with school administrators, teachers, coaches, parents and members of the business sector.
Both the business and educational communities in Northern California have benefited from Corrigan's professional skills. She served a two-year term on the San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury and also served on the South San Francisco Chamber of Commerce.
An alumnus of San Jose State University, Barbara has a son, two daughters and three grandchildren.
