NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Award Recipients
Biography
With a 4.0 GPA, Blake Moore ranked first in his class of 333 students at Ogden High School (Utah). Listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students, he was a member of the National Honor Society and the German Guild. He made the school Honor Roll four consecutive years; received the Certificate of Excellence from the Utah State School Board and the Ogden City School Board; and participated in the Ogden-Weber Language Fair at Weber State University.
Moore was an all-state quarterback, and he led his team to the Utah state semifinal as a senior. He threw for more than 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns and rushed for nearly 300 yards, earning the 1997 Wendy’s High School Heisman Trophy. Utah Governor Michael Leavitt presented him with a Governor’s Proclamation in honor of his accomplishments, and Ogden City Mayor Glenn Meacham did the same by declaring a city-wide “Blake Moore Day.”
Moore attended Utah State and redshirted on the Aggies football team as a freshman before going on a mission trip to Seoul, Korea. He transferred to the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor’s in behavioral science. Moore is currently pursuing a master’s in predictive analytics at Northwestern University. He is an associate at Cicero Group, a data-driven strategy firm, and he volunteers with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
