Biography

Bob Brooks has seen it all in his days of calling sports, covering events from high school football to the Olympics, in his 67-year broadcasting career. While a senior at Cedar Rapids Franklin High School in 1943, Brooks began covering Hawkeye football games. Brooks was the first to call games from Roosevelt High School (IA) at Hill Park and Kingston Stadium. Brooks is a ten-time winner of the Iowa Sportscaster of the Year Award, and is a member of the Iowa Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame and the Iowa Hall of Pride.
