Biography

Brian Sponheimer established himself as the consummate scholar-athlete at Notre Dame High School (Conn.), graduating second in his class with a 95 GPA. He received first honors every semester, and he was a member of the National Honor Society. On the football field, Sponheimer was a first team All-Connecticut selection. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound offensive and defensive lineman was also a first team all-conference, all-county and all-division selection. Sponheimer found time to serve on the school newspaper, and he was a Peer Counselor. He was also a member of the student council. Sponheimer played three seasons at Harvard before earning his bachelor’s in government. He is now a research analyst at Gabelli & Company in Rye, N.Y.
