NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Award Recipients
Biography
A standout lineman, Dusty Reddick's dedication and discipline learned on the football field have translated into supreme academics in the classroom.
A regular honor roll member, Reddick has won numerous academic awards in health, math, science, drafting and German. While engaging in higher-level courses such as Advanced Placement Calculus and Chemistry, he maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. A recipient of the Georgia Certificate of Merit, Reddick is a National Honor Society member and has appeared in both Who's Who Among American High School Students and Athletes.
Showing versatility as a defensive end, tight end and long snapper, Reddick was named 2002 First Team All-Region on defense. A key component on a successful team, he helped Screven County win three 2AAA Region Championships and an AAA State title in 2002. Named Prep Sports Magazine Male Athlete of the Month in 2003, Reddick was listed in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Top 50 Prospects.
Off the football field, Reddick lettered in both baseball and wrestling, winning numerous personal titles and twice serving as team captain. A Student Council member, he was the student government president and is very active in the First United Methodist Church where he volunteered in soup kitchens, vacation bible school, the nursery, Sunday School and the Samaritan Purse Project. A Special Olympics volunteer, Reddick was also a camp counselor for baseball and wrestling.
Reddick was a four-year letterman and team captain at Georgia Southern University while earning his bachelor's in civil engineering. He is currently a field engineer for CB&I, an energy infrastructure company.
