Biography

The accolades of this standout scholar-athlete are too many to list, and it's no surprise that he landed at Harvard. Jake Stone is simply one of the best.

In the classroom, Stone never received a grade less than an A, a record that made him class valedictorian and an Academic All-State selection. He earned recognition as a National Merit Scholar and as a member of the National Honor Society.

This 6-foot-6, 215 pound wide receiver runs the 40-yard dash in 4.38 seconds and led the Limon Badgers to the state playoffs three times. During his last two seasons, Stone caught 99 passes and scored 32 touchdowns. Selected All-State by several organizations, Stone won the prestigious Denver Post Gold Helmet Award in 2001, which goes to the state's top football player-scholar-citizen of the year.

A three-sport athlete, Stone captained the football, basketball and track teams, was senior class president and participated in a full regimen of other extracurricular activities, including president of the International Club, Student Council member, Band Council member, Debate Team Captain, and a 21st Century Program Tutor.

Amidst his busy schedule, Stone found time for those less fortunate as an active member of his church group and volunteering as a youth basketball coach, helping with the Children of Afghanistan Fund, and as a mentor with BIONIC Buddies. He earned his bachelor's in economics from Harvard and is currently a portfolio manager for Edesia Asset Manager, a global merchandiser of commodities and processor of agricultural goods.
