Jeffrey Orleans, Chief Executive Officer of JPOrleans Homes, is honored to carry on his family's legacy of building quality homes that have exceptional value. The Orleans' family tradition of homebuilding has had three generations of Orleans family leadership. It was started over 90 years ago by his grandfather, Alfred P. Orleans, and then with Jeffrey's father, Marvin Orleans, together they have built more than 85,000 homes.
The Orleans family is accustomed to giving back to the community, so he participates in a variety of philanthropic pursuits, including the arts, education and social programs. Jeffrey has served on the Board of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Drexel University, Philadelphia Orchestra, Jewish Employment Vocational Services and the Orleans Technical Institute, among others.
In 1984, the Council of Ivy Group Presidents hired Orleans to serve as executive director of the Ivy League, and held that role for 24 years. He is presently a consultant to the Knight Foundation Commission on Intercollegiate Athletics and provides strategic planning and gender equity advice to a number of colleges and conferences.
Orleans’ career includes extensive experience with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, beginning with a major role in writing the original Title IX regulation. He also played a role in senior governance positions with the National Association of College and University Attorneys and the NCAA, including the NCAA’s initial Gender Equity Task Force. As Director of the Ivy League, Orleans was responsible for the nation’s broadest women’s collegiate athletic program.
