NFF Outstanding Football Official Award Recipients
Biography
Before Jack Daly's memorable officiating career, he was considered one of the best centers in Williams College (Mass.) football history. Many remember him as the athletic director of Wytopitloc High School (Maine), but he also had a 30-year stint as a referee with the NEFOA and ECAC. Daly was also recognized for his civic and community work in the Boston area. He served on the Board of Directors of the Boston Chapter of the National Football Foundation, and served as president of the Boston Gridiron Club. Daly was also president of the Eastern Intercollegiate Association of Football Officials. Daly was a liaison official for the ECAC's televised games. He officiated three Army-Navy games, one Army-Notre Dame game, and the famous 1968 Harvard-Yale game which ended in a 29-29 tie.
