National Football Foundation

Larry Wilkins started a career dedicated to amateur sports as an assistant football coach and baseball coach at Milwaukie High School in Malwaukie, Ore. He taught at the school for 32 years, coached football for 24 and coached baseball for 14. The baseball team won three league championships and was state finalists with Wilkins at the helm and the football program had a 68 percent winning percentage with his assistance.
 
Wilkins has served as banquet chairman, vice president, president and chairman of the Portland Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He played an instrumental role in increasing membership from the original 19 to the current high of 132. He also sparked the development of the local scholarship program.
