Paul’s devotion to his community can be seen in his experience as an attorney in Springfield, Ohio, where he has served many local charitable organizations including the Springfield YMCA, the Clark County Mental Health Services, the community planning council, the university club and the United Way.
 
Valente was the obvious choice to take over the presidency of the Springfield Chapter of the National Football Foundation after the chapter struggled in its early years. Since he took the reins, the scholar-athlete banquet has become a highlight in the Springfield community. He is also responsible for growth in membership and scholarship money and for building a strong relationship with Ohio State University.
