NFF National High School Scholar-Athlete Award Recipients
Biography
Maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA, Wesley McConnell ranked first in his 251 student class and has a trophy shelf to prove it. Wesley received the Lincoln Parish Academic Award four times. He was listed in Who's Who Among High School Students for his junior and senior years. He was also a Louisiana Board of Regents Scholar, a TOPPS Scholar Academic Composite Team.
He was an outstanding high school athlete. He earned nine letters in football, soccer, track and tennis. Three letters came from football where Wesley was a standout offensive lineman and earned Northwest Louisiana All-District and All-Area honors.
Volunteering and helping others was also a big part of Wesley's high school life. He was a role model for the DARE program and a speaker for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is very involved in his church, participating on the Leadership Team and with Bible School Study. In school he was involved in a number of youth service projects and was a volunteer tutor. He attended Louisiana State University Shreveport to study accounting.
