National Football Foundation

Since it was founded in 1961, the Baltimore Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame has been actively promoting amateur football in Baltimore and the surrounding counties of Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Harford and Howard. 

The main activity of the Baltimore Chapter each year is its scholar-athlete banquet. The chapter boasts one of the largest banquets with over 1,200 people in attendance. Since the first dinner in 1964, well over 2,800 student athletes have been honored and over 40,000 people have attended the dinner. A highlight of the dinner is the presentation of scholarship awards with over $350,000 being distributed thus far. 

Another coveted award is the Service to Football Award, which is bestowed to individuals who have best served high school or college football in the area. The award is presented in the name of Herb Armstrong, a founding member and longtime president of the Maryland Scholastic Association.
