East Tennessee Chapter

The University of Tennessee has teamed up with the East Tennessee Chapter of the National Football Foundation to have a profound impact on local amateur football. The chapter and volunteers boast a record 22 Hall of Fame inductees to date consisting of three former coaches, 18 players, and one member in the Hall of Fame as both a player and coach.

Chapter president Dick Williams is an outstanding leader that annually has the East Tennessee Chapter among the largest in the NFF.

The annual awards banquet is held each year on the same day of the University of Tennessee Volunteers Spring game. The event is kicked-off by the head football coach of the Volunteers sharing information about spring practice and the outlook for the upcoming season in the fall. Awards are presented to high school scholar-athletes who have distinguished themselves on the field and in the classroom as well as in the community. Additionally, Amateur Football Awards, Community Service Awards and a Distinguished American Award are presented to local citizens and coaches that have had a positive impact on the community through amateur football.

The Knoxville Quarterback Club also presents two awards; the Lindsey Nelson Broadcasting Award and the General Robert R. Neyland Trophy.
