Vermont Chapter

Since 1994, the Vermont Chapter has been actively involved with amateur football in Vermont. Each year, the chapter has expanded its mission, serving the players and coaches of the Green Mountain State. The annual Scholar-Athlete Dinner is held in May at Castleton State College, the only public college in Vermont with a football program. Eight scholar-athletes are recognized and $3,000 in scholarships is distributed. Special awards are also given to deserving coaches and public servants.

The chapter sponsors a North-South All-Star Football Game at the conclusion of the fall season at Middlebury College. This game helps determine who will be selected for the annual Shriner's Game between Vermont and New Hampshire. A golf tournament is held in May to support the chapter's scholarship fund.

The chapter is led by former Middlebury coach Mickey Heinecken, who was presented the 2007 Northeast Region Chapter Leadership Award for his dedication to the Vermont Chapter
