Golden Triangle Chapter

The chapter has honored the top high school coach in the area with the Bum Phillips Coach of the Year Award since 2019.

The award is named after Bum Phillips, who began his coaching career at the high school level in Texas before moving on to college and the NFL. He served as head coach at UTEP and later led the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints in the NFL.
