National Football Foundation

The chapter serves San Diego and Imperial Counties, which have a combined population of more than 3.5 million. The chapter's region is the second largest CIF section in California. 

Each year 28-30 of the area's best and brightest high school and college Scholar–Leader football players are honored at a banquet attended by 400. The event is one of the most prestigious athletic/academic functions in the region. In 2020,
Logan Berzins was selected as the Walter J Zable award winner and will represent the chapter on the Team of Distinction to be recognize.in the NFF Hall of Fame in Atlanta. 

The Zable Chapter sponsors a “NFF GAME OF THE Week each week of the regular season and honors the most outstanding player from each team. This is the “MVP PROGRAM” 

Beginning in 2021, The Zable Chapter will hold a football coaches’ clinic each spring with an emphasis on character building, football fundamentals and best practices.

The chapter's co-founder and College Football Hall of Fame Gold Medal winner, Walter J. Zable, earned the honor of having the chapter named after him by being one of the football foundation's greatest supporters.
