National Football Foundation

The Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter has flourished ever since its inception in November of 1991. The chapter maintains certain goals that have allowed its members to successfully promote the ideals of the National Football Foundation throughout the region.

The chapter hosts an annual assortment of events to engage both local student-athletes and its members. Each year, the chapter holds a Scholar-Athlete Banquet, recognizing nominated student-athletes from surrounding areas for achievements in the classroom and on the football field. At the banquet, the chapter honors 11 scholar-athletes, presenting two with $500 scholarships.

KSU head coach Bill Snyder has served as the keynote speaker on several occasions. In May 2020, the chapter paid tribute to the legendary College Football Hall of Fame coach by renaming itself the Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter.

Many other college football legends from Kansas have also played a role with the chapter. College Football Hall of Famers Gary Spani and John Hadl both delivered keynote speeches at the banquet in previous years. Other Hall of Famers that have taken time to help out the Sunflower include coaches Fielding Yost, Matty Bell and Bennie Owen.
