Philadelphia Chapter

Under the leadership of Andy Talley, head football coach of 2009 FCS National Champion Villanova University, the Philadelphia Chapter was reestablished in 1990 and has been actively promoting high school and college football in the Philadelphia region. Each year, the chapter organizes several events to benefit youth, high school and college student-athletes as well as the highly successful Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to promote bone marrow testing awareness as well as organize, host and fund bone marrow donor tests across college campuses nationwide.

With the Villanova staff providing instruction, area youth league coaches and players benefit from clinics and camps that are held on campus. The coaches’ clinic is free of charge with classroom and on-field instruction. The chapter also hosts the Bert Bell Youth Football League championships at Villanova stadium.

The Scholar-Athlete Banquet is held each spring on the Villanova campus with scholar-athletes from 10 local colleges and 30 area high schools recognized for academic and athletic achievement. Other awards presented are the Gold Medal Award, Contribution to Amateur Football, Outstanding College and High School Officials, and a Youth League Award.
