Clinton Frank was a two-time All-America halfback for Yale. In 1936, he ran and passed during an 81-yard touchdown drive that beat Princeton 26-23 with 10 seconds to play. He made a 44-yard run and a 41-yard touchdown pass to beat Harvard 14-13. He threw a touchdown pass with three seconds to play to tie Dartmouth 9-9. In 1937, he gained 191 yards in 19 carries, had runs of 79 and 51 yards, in a 26-0 victory over Princeton. In other games, he had runs of 68 and 61 yards and engineered a 78-yard touchdown pass play. This gave Frank the Heisman and the Maxwell Trophies. He served as Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Air Corps during World War II, and as an aide to General Jimmie Doolittle. He headed the Clinton Frank Advertising Agency in Chicago. When he retired from business, he devoted his time to charity. The National Football Foundation gave him its Gold Medal in 1988 with these words: "a great man in football, in business, and in life." He was born September 13, 1915 and died July 7, 1992.
