Jim Weatherall was a dynamic performer, at 6-4 and 230- pounds, at tackle for Oklahoma. He was consensus All- America in 1950, unanimous All-America in 1951. Weatherall won the Outland Trophy as the nation's best interior lineman in 1951. He was a member of the Naval ROTC and graduated with a degree in business administration. Weatherall grew up in Oklahoma, near Norman, but finished high school in White Deer, Texas. He lettered four years at Oklahoma and was 1951 co-captain. He place-kicked 37 extra points in 1950 (fifth in the nation) and 39 in 1951 (second in the nation). In his career, Oklahoma had a 39-4 record with a 31-game winning streak and a national championship in 1950. After graduation Weatherall served in the Marines, then had a nine- year pro career (1954-1962) with Edmonton, Philadelphia, Washington, and Detroit. In 1985, a magazine picked Weatherall as the sixth best player in the history of Oklahoma football. He was born October 26, 1929, and died August 2, 1992.
