Ron Pritchard was three-time All-Western Athletic Conference player who gained All-America honors as a senior in 1968. His status in the conference exceeded his playing days, as he was named to the 20-year WAC All Star team. He led the Sun Devils to a top-20 finish as a junior and ASU to two consecutive eight-win seasons. Ron was greatly respected by his teammates as they elected him team captain and Most Valuable Player in 1968. That season he led the Sun Devils in tackles and interceptions. Ron's play earned him births in the East-West game, Coaches All-America game, Hula Bowl, and Senior Bowl. He was the 15th player selected in the 1969 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers. His nine-year pro career with the Oilers and Cincinnati Bengals was cut short by a knee injury. After a successful business career, he continued to give back to his community by funding a scholarship at his high school and raising funds for charitable organizations.
